Microsoft MVP for Outlook
Hi, I'm Amit.
I am an Outlook enthusiast, content creator and YouTuber from Bhopal, India. Since 2020 I have made more than 550 videos and 80 written guides that help people get through their email faster, and in 2025 Microsoft recognised that work with the Most Valuable Professional award.
How Mail Smartly started
Most people spend two or three hours a day inside Outlook and have never been shown how it works. They drag emails into folders by hand, scroll to find a message from last month, and type the same reply for the twentieth time. I did all of that too, until I started digging into rules, search folders, Quick Steps and templates and realised how much of the day Outlook could handle on its own.
In April 2020 I opened the Mail Smartly channel to share those fixes, one at a time, in plain language and with the screen on. The rule from day one has not changed: one problem, one answer, no padding. Most videos are under three minutes because the fix is under three minutes.
What I make
- YouTube videos, new ones every week. Short tips, longer walkthroughs, and the Outlook 100 Days series that covers one feature a day.
- Written guides, now moving to MailPerfectly.com, including the Outlook shortcuts list, VBA macros for automating repetitive jobs, and step-by-step fixes for rules, signatures, printing and search.
- A short email newsletter with one tip at a time, plus the free Outlook shortcut keys PDF for new subscribers.
- Answers in the community on Microsoft Q&A, Reddit and Quora, where I read the questions people are actually asking and turn the common ones into videos.
Microsoft MVP, technical area: Outlook
The Microsoft Most Valuable Professional award is given to community experts who share what they know, and it is reviewed every year. I received it in 2025 for contributions in Outlook, and it was renewed for 2026 to 2027. It means the guidance here is checked against how Outlook really behaves, across the new Outlook, classic Outlook, Outlook on the web and Microsoft 365.
